Hey everyone, thanks for taking a look at my first Macintosh program, "And the winning ticket..."
I wrote this application because at the UCDMUG meetings we were using an old hypercard program to draw ticket numbers for the raffle at the end of the meeting, and not only was it in black and white, but it also often took over a minute to display the next winning ticket. I had taken a couple of programming classes and knew that it shouldn't take anywhere close to that long.
Anyways, this program draws the tickets fast! Infact, many think it draws them much to fast and I may add an optional time delay so that there still is some suspense. I might also add a little animation to the Mac picture. It also calculates the attendance, and has an option to put all the tickets "back into the hat", incase you want every ticket to be eligible to win after having drawn some already. I didn't use anything special, and it is a fat program, so it should work on any Mac, though it's better if you have at least 256 colors. Right now the program is compiled to only draw up to 100 tickets per session, but if you need more than that e me and I can recompile it for you.
This is shareware, and I request that you send $5 if you use this. I'd love it if you felt it is worth more and want to send more, or will gladly accept one of your raffle prizes that this program is used to distribute if you'd rather (ie for non-profit orgs like BMUG that don't really have cash lying around, but have plenty of cool prizes for their weekly raffles).
